CJUS 205 Introduction to Criminal Laws and Courts

This course provides an overview of the U.S. criminal justice system, focusing on the principles and practices of criminal law and the court system. Students will explore the structure and function of the legal system, including the roles of various courts and legal institutions. The course examines the factors shaping criminal law, the legal framework governing criminal justice professions, and the essential elements of crimes and criminal defenses.
