ENSC 295 Introduction to Environmental Field Methods
This course is focused on developing introductory field skills through experiential learning. This field-based course introduces students to orienteering, map reading, gps, and basic field methodologies including habitat description; methods for sampling plants, animals, soils, water, and microclimate. We will discuss how to apply these techniques to address ecological, conservation, and management questions. Class assignments are project-based and prepare students to do baseline monitoring or assessments as an environmental consultant or employee within a tribal, state or federal agency.
