NUTR 221 Basic Human Nutrition
Intended for pre-health/pre-nursing majors and anyone else interested in nutrition. Students will become acquainted with basic concepts of human nutrition. Topics will include carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, vitamins, minerals, absorption, digestion, metabolism and energy utilization as they relate to health and food consumption at different stages of life, activity, and disease prevention. Current food and nutrition trends will also be addressed via weekly group discussions.
